ASTRA DELIVERABLES ON THEIR WAY TO YOUNG ADULTS IN EUROPEAN SOUTHERN AND EASTERN PERIPHERIES

2022-11-28

Since its beginning in March 2020, ASTRA project aims to unleash the untapped high cultural and natural potentials in communities lying in the extreme outskirt regions of the EU's Southern and Eastern peripheries: Sicily (Italy), Andalusia (Spain), Silesia (Poland).

The European consortium coordinated by Idrisi Cultura e Sviluppo from Italy, Ad Meritum Foundation from Poland and Internet Web Solutions from Spain has been working hard to promote entrepreneurship among young adults (18-29 year olds) in Europe.

The innovative approach of ASTRA consists of a geodatabase of revitalized mines with case studies about the revitalization process inspired by the local authorities that  stimulates people, locals and entrepreneurs to actively join the process of changing their city heritage.

All ASTRA materials and resources can be found here:

Another innovative aspect to inspire young to entrepreneurship is that, during the local workshops, trainers lead to real situations starting from role model - what the entrepreneur has experienced and achieved. The trainer then guides the participants through the process of recognizing their own potential and planning their own future.

The OER-platform functions as a self-standing repository of heritage-relevant post-mining cultural, natural and immaterial ethnographic, anthropological sites. Infographic material illustrating forms of extraction and exploitation of mines, local mining traditional techniques and other cultural heritage treasures related to the mining phenomenon are available in the OER Platform.

ASTRA platform will also host different digital materials, ranging from pictures, videos, testimonials, interviews, flyer.
